The casserole (steamer pot) has 5 ply construction that consists of 5 bonded metal layers with stainless steel core.

Due to poor stainless steel heat conductivity that can create hot spots, 2 aluminum layers were added to provide even heat distribution. Each layer has its own purpose:

1. 18/10 stainless steel non stick interior layer for easy cooking.
2. Aluminum layer for even heat distribution.
3. Stainless steel core for durability.
4. Aluminum layer for even heat distribution.
5. 18/0 Magnetic stainless steel for induction compatibility.

18 & 10 numbers in stainless steel refer to 18 % of chromium content and 10 % nickel content. Nickel makes stainless steel non magnetic. All cad d5 casserole pot exterior layer is made of 18/0 stainless steel that doesn’t contain nickel for induction compatibility.
