This model is larger then Presto 06006 kitchen kettle multi-cooker/steamer. Multi purpose Presto options electric multi cooker steamer can be used as:
- Deep fryer.
- Electric cooking pot for soups, stews, chili, rice and other dishes.
- Vegetable steamer.
- Pasta cooker (to boil dumplings, eggs).
We don’t recommend to use Presto 06003 options electric multi cooker steamer for steaming poultry or seafood because the lid doesn’t create complete seal (due to basket handle which snaps onto rim of cooking pot).
Since vegetables are products with short cooking time, steam them in the basket or use it for draining when frying potato, seafood or cooking pasta, dumplings and eggs. Steaming basket has handle for easy lifting.
The temperature range is from 0 then 200 degrees (Warm between 0-200F) with 50 degrees increases up to 400 degrees. When you lift a lid the temperature decreases, but heat control adjusts the temperature automatically. Glass lid allows you to watch the cooking process without lifting it.
All parts of Presto 06003 options electric multi cooker steamer are dishwasher safe except for the removable heat control. Don’t soak pot in the water for long time and avoid using metal utensils to prevent coating flaking off.
Pot does get hot due to heavy cast aluminum body which is known as a great and even heat distributor, so pot holders are required. Check price
