Norpro steamer pot is constructed from heavy duty stainless steel with 3 ply encapsulated base.
Aluminum core is inserted between 2 stainless steel layers to make it thicker and durable.
Norpro KRONA stainless steel steamer pot has an aluminum core only in its base.
Stainless steel is durable metal, but it doesn’t distribute heat evenly. Aluminum is lightweight and corrosion resistant metal which distributes heat evenly. Stainless steel interior and exterior make cleaning easy.
Stainless steel handles and lid knob do get hot. Use pot holders when lifting a pot or steamer to prevent burns.
