Most All Clad steamers have 3 ply and 5 ply metal construction, with bonded stainless steel, aluminum or copper layers for superior cooking performance. Some steamers have aluminum cores only in their bases, some have aluminum layers that extend up the sides of the steamer pots. The steamer pots that are all clad with aluminum layer heat the food from the bottom and the sides. The food cooks evenly and quickly. The steamers interiors and exteriors are made of brushed or polished 18/10 stainless steel.
