Cook a variety of dishes in Fagor stainless steel pressure cooker

The Fagor pressure cooker with stainless steel cooking surface doesn’t react with acidic foods and allows you to brown/ saute, simmer, boil, bake, roast, stew, steam, blanch, fry and pressure cook a variety of foods.

The Fagor stainless steel pressure cooker can be used to cook all kinds of vegetables, poultry, meats (pot roast, stew, ragu) creamy soups, legumes, grains and rice.

It comes with a deep steamer basket and a trivet for steaming foods and cooking pasta. It steams foods faster than a regular steamer. The basket is large enough to steam all kinds of poultry, seafood, fruits and vegetables. The trivet keeps the basket above the water level while steaming. Steam products required time or until desired crispness or softness is reached.

You can reheat leftovers in Fagor pressure cooker placing them in steamer basket. It’s quicker and healthier to use steamer basket for reheating foods instead of using microwave. It keeps you away from frustraiting moments of burns when using open pots or skillets. The other good side of using pressure cooker instead of microwave is rehydration. Food gets hot because of the hot steam, but in microwave because of waves.

How Fagor pressure cooker works

Fagor pressure cooker has Dial format with 1-Low and 2-High settings to operate the spring valve mechanism

Dial format with 1-Low and 2-High settings to operate the spring valve mechanism

Pressure is created by boiling a liquid, such as water or broth, inside the closed pressure cooker. The trapped steam increases the internal pressure and allows the temperature to rise.

As the pressure rises, the temperature of the water and steam inside the sealed pot (the pressure cooker) also rises above the normal 100ºC (212ºF) boiling point temperature.

The Fagor Duo pressure cooker line includes different-sized models.

This Fagor pressure cooker also has two pressure settings: low (8psi) for delicate dishes and high (15psi) for hard and tough meats.

1. Two pressure settings in a spring valve mechanism operated by a dial format.

2. Select and set to level 1 (Low 8.5psi) or level 2 (High 15psi).

3. After use, to release pressure select the automatic pressure release position. Select unlock position to remove for cleaning.

4. Visual pressure indicator on handle shows when all pressure has been released from the cooker.

Pressure cooking process is different than any other cooking process. When cooking in a regular pot you can fill it with products and liquids to the brim, but pressure cooker doesn’t allow that. It’s recommended to fill 2/3 part of the pressure cooker.

This Fagor stainless steel pressure cooker has a marked line which indicates how much liquid the cooker can hold.

Fagor 8-quart pressure cooker will hold approximately 6 quarts of fresh products or liquids, 10-quart cooker will hold approximately 7.5 quarts of products. 6 quart cooker will hold approximately 4 quarts of products. 4 qt pressure cooker is suitable for preparing 1-2 servings.

The base of Fagor pressure cooker has 18/0 magnetic grade of stainless steel layer that doesn’t contain nickel, 18 % of chromium content and 0 % nickel content. Chromium is a hard, rust and corrosion resistant metal. Nickel is a corrosion resistant and shiny metal that enhances the hardness, corrosion and rust resistance of stainless steel, but makes the ferrous content non magnetic.

Due to poor stainless steel conductivity Fagor pressure cookers with 3 ply stainless steel bases have an aluminum core in their bases for even heat distribution with 18/0 magnetic grade stainless steel layer added for induction compatibility.

Remember: In order for pressure cookers to be induction compatible they have to have 18/0 stainless steel or other magnetic metal added into it.
